EINE DESIGN- UND MATERIALINNOVATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Durchbruch in der Werkstoffkunde \u2013 der neue SILQ von Steelcase.\u00a0 Neuer Stuhl passt sich dem K\u00f6rper ganz ohne Mechanik an.<\/em><\/p>\n

M\u00dcNCHEN, 30. Januar 2018<\/strong> \u2013 Steelcase pr\u00e4sentiert heute SILQ\u2122, ein Stuhl, der das herk\u00f6mmliche Design von St\u00fchlen v\u00f6llig neu definiert. Nach intensiver Materialforschung haben Steelcase Designer und Ingenieure einen extrem leistungsf\u00e4higen Polymer-Werkstoff entwickelt, der die Eigenschaften einer Carbonfaser aufweist. Die Kombination dieses neuen Materials und einer ganz besonderen Formgebung, die fast schon sinnlich anmutet, erm\u00f6glicht, dass sich der Stuhl ohne den Einsatz sonst \u00fcblicher Mechanik an den Nutzer anpasst. Das Ergebnis ist ein Stuhl, der wie ein intuitives, sensibles System reagiert \u2013 SILQ ist ein Archetyp f\u00fcr ein neues B\u00fcrostuhldesign.<\/p>\n

\u201eDie Idee zu SILQ basiert auf unserem besonderen Verst\u00e4ndnis von Design. Um etwas wirklich Einzigartiges zu schaffen, ist es wichtig, die visuelle und die funktionale Designsprache in Einklang mit dem Material zu bringen,\u201d erkl\u00e4rt James Ludwig, Vice President Global Design and Engineering. \u201cWir haben uns nicht nur von der Luftfahrtindustrie inspirieren lassen, sondern auch von der Beweglichkeit hochleistungsf\u00e4higer Beinprothesen. Wir wollten herausfinden, wie die Kombination aus fortschrittlichen Materialien und Form ein einfaches System bildet, das au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich d\u00fcnn, extrem robust und gleichzeitig sehr reaktionsf\u00e4hig ist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ludwig und sein Team hatten die Vision, einen Stuhl v\u00f6llig neuartig zu designen. Ziel war es, Hunderte von Einzelteile, die \u00fcblicherweise f\u00fcr einen anpassungsf\u00e4higen Stuhl ben\u00f6tigt w\u00fcrden, durch ein einfaches System zu ersetzen, bei dem das Material zum Mechanismus wird.<\/p>\n

Das Steelcase Team entwickelte zun\u00e4chst eine Premium-Version des SILQ aus Carbon. Um wirklich alle Zielgruppen anzusprechen mussten sie weiter forschen. Dazu stellte das Team weitere Prototypen her und entwickelte nicht nur ein neues Material, sondern auch einen neuen Fertigungsprozess. Das Ergebnis: ein hochleistungsf\u00e4higer Polymer-Werkstoff, der sich wie Carbonfaser verh\u00e4lt.<\/p>\n

\u201eDas Zusammenspiel von Form, Material und Funktion sind bei SILQ untrennbar miteinander verbunden,\u201d betont Ludwig. \u201cWir sind bis an die Grenzen der Materialwissenschaft gegangen. Das Resultat – das Material wurde zur Mechanik.\u201d<\/p>\n

SILQ ist f\u00fcr das Arbeiten von heute, entwickelt worden. Menschen bewegen sich von einem Raum zum anderen. Sie arbeiten nicht mehr nur an einem Platz und ben\u00f6tigen daher einen Stuhl, der sich ihnen intuitiv anpasst. Einzig die H\u00f6he muss vom Nutzer eingestellt werden.<\/p>\n

\u201eDie Einfachheit des Stuhldesigns wird jeden, der auf SILQ sitzt, unterst\u00fctzen und gefallen \u2013 egal, wo und wie man arbeitet,\u201c erkl\u00e4rt Ludwig.<\/p>\n

SILQ wird in einer Vielzahl verschiedener Materialkombinationen sowohl in Polymer als auch Carbon angeboten. Au\u00dferdem gibt es die M\u00f6glichkeit, das Material digital zu bedrucken. In Europa wird SILQ im Herbst 2018 zu einem Preis ab 780\u20ac verf\u00fcgbar sein.<\/p>\n
